I don't know if this incredibly odd-looking/adorable dog is named Marti after the Cuban writer...all I could think was that she could also very likely be named after Radio Marti, the U.S. radio station that blasts propaganda at Cuba. I mean...look at those ears. They're clearly velveteen-covered satellite dishes.

So awful that dogs don't understand "I'll be back." They get all panicky. No sense of object constancy. Some people have this problem, too.

If the owner envisions her dogs as a couple, how does she see her relationship to them? As the mother-in-law? The third in a menage? Housekeeper/valet? Third wheel?

Although: who knows. This is just a dumb human analysis. He could just as easily be mouthing off about the beautiful weather, the intolerable dryness of his rightmost toepad on his left foreleg, the cozy feel of his purple jacket or something else entirely, based on a way of perception and understanding that we cannot begin to imagine.
