amuse me! ascot doesn't start for another five months and everything's been so still since lottie fenwick-symes left on her madcap trip to rajasthan to visit that odd chap in jaipur. i do say, if it wasn't for the sherry at viscount landsdowne's digs, i might go mad and start reenacting battles from the First Boer War up and down picadilly—which of course would make great aunt victoria start tutting again like a fishwife about me dragging the family name in and out of the society pages and how great grandfather lord marbury didn't go all the way to barbados to tame the savages only to have his progeny's progeny's progeny act like one.
